View CommentsI started playing 40k way back in second edition, though as a child my farther used to play a ton of ‘Rouge Trader’ and ‘Mechwarrior’ so I’ve always mini gaming in my life. When I hit my teens I moved onto video gaming and modding half-life, so 40k kinda took a backseat for a number of years.
Fast-forward to today, well a few years ago after finishing my degree and I had an abundance of spare time, my wife wasn’t overly happy with my programming 40 hours a week, then coming home and programming for another 40 hours, so she got me back into 40k, yeah my wife totally supports my nerdy hobby
Upon restarting the hobby I started up a Dark Angle force, my goal was to get 1500 points of Deathwing, but at the time my main opponent was playing Eldar. It didn’t take long for me to realise that Dire Avengers with blade storm = 5 dead terminators

Then the new Space Wolves codex came out, and I instantly know it was right for me, I love the idea of an overly customisable army roster, now I just have to get around to painting another 30-40 marines
Not wanting to have to paint a ton more models that are basically the same as what I already own, just grey in place of green I decided that I wanted to build a heavily converted force, mainly to attempt to break up the repetitiveness of building a second marine army
So ‘The Cloven’ were born, survivors lost on a planet drifting through the void for millennia subjected to sporadic, but brutal assault from the creatures who dwell within inmaterium, over time the fiercely loyal subjects of the Imperium slowly evolved into something other than man, this plog details exactly what this change consists of…
